A truly unique recruitment agency

About us

At Parents & Careers, we are deeply passionate about parents and believe they constitute an under-utilised, highly ambitious and qualified talent pool.

Our mission is to match our candidates with roles they will love and find meaningful, in a company that champions flexibility and diversity.

We partner primarily with clients in and around London, working on roles that are full-time, part-time and anything in between.

Our history

From 2017 – 2021 we ran a career advice blog called Mothers & Careers with companies advertising flexible job roles on our job board. Our audience received regular newsletters with news about flexible working, career advice and latest job opportunities.

Companies we worked with varied from large, established companies like Deloitte, Boodle Hatfield, UCL, FDM and Baker McKenzie to startups such as Monzo, Koru Kids, Beam, Yulife, AccurX, Under the Doormat and Skimlinks to established SMEs like Little Village, Kin Learning, Holland, Hahn & Wills and Bellevue.

Following on from the success of Mothers & Careers, in 2021 we launched Parents & Careers, a full recruitment service for busy London parents.

Anette B Beelaerts

Anette launched Parents & Careers in 2021, a unique recruitment firm placing top candidates in family-friendly, forward thinking companies.

Back in 2017, Anette started a job board and website called Mothers & Careers. At the time, Anette experienced a gap in websites providing career development information to pregnant women and new mothers. It started as a career-focused blog and evolved to include a job board promoting fulltime and parttime job opportunities that work around having a family.

Launching a proper recruitment service felt like a natural progression from running the original jobsite.

Anette has more than 10 years of experience working in the City of London. Anette started her career in various commercial and operational roles in the shipping industry (Maersk Broker, Allocean). She then embarked on a Government relations career, first at the Royal Norwegian Embassy then in financial services with public policy and advocacy roles for Association for Financial Markets in Europe, Nationwide and Standard Chartered Bank.

Anette is also a business consultant, writer and editor and has been a contributor to Forbes. She has a Master in International Business Management from University of Surrey. She lives in London with her husband Gerard and their two children.
